Serials Librarian.  Copley Library, University of San Diego
Full-time, tenure track faculty position

Copley Library seeks a Serials Librarian to oversee all aspects of serials
management in all formats, and to provide leadership for the continuing
development of the serials collections, working closely with the librarian
subject liaisons.  Assumes liaison reponsibilities for a subject area, and
provides course-integrated bibliographic instruction in that area.
Includes some Reference Desk service and teaches the Library Research
Methods course in rotation.  Works under the direction of the Head of
Technical Services.

Qualifications:
MLS from an ALA accredited school.  Commitment to teaching and public
service in an academic setting.  Ability and desire to work closely with
students and faculty.  Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment in a dynamic academic library.

Librarians at the University of San Diego are expected to meet
reappointment and tenure criteria which include teaching, research,
creative work, professional activity, and university and public service.
A second Master's degree is required for consideration for tenure in the
sixth year.  Minimum salary $36,000 annually.  University benefits include
health and life insurance, retirement plan, and tuition remission.
