The registration deadline is May 21. The preconference will explore issues related to the incorporation of eMonographs/eBooks into the digital library. The presenters will define the eMonograph/eBooks; identify the significance of the eMonograph/eBook in the digital library; address key issues related to the selection, acquisition, organization, licensing, copyright, preservation, and perpetual access of the eMonogrpah/eBook from the librarian's perspective; and address key issues of importance to librarians and publishers in relation to the licensing and pricing of the eMonograph/eBook. The preconference is designed for librarians and associate university librarians who are implementing or planning to integrate eMonographs/eBooks in their digital libraries, publishers, university press leaders, system librarians and other librarians interested in the development of policies related to eMonographs/eBooks. The moderator of the preconference is Lynn Silipigni Connaway, netLibrary, Inc. The speakers include: Camila Alire, Colorado State University; Jerry Campbell, University of Southern California; Terry Noreault, OCLC, Inc.; Chris Pooley, President, ModernAge Books, Brian Stern, netLibrary, Inc.,and Kate Wittenberg, Columbia University Press.
