Hi all,

I have a question about designation of publication dates:

The title in hand is a conference proceedings, which has the same title
each year, so I'm happily constructing a serial record for it.

The latest vol. (8th) has a note in the preface describing the dates of
previous conferences, and states that "the fifth was held in November
1992
from which the first set of proceedings was published."

When constructing the record, I would like include:

260 ...,|c1990-
3620 5th (1990)-
500 Proceedings of 1st(1984)-4th(1990) conferences were never published

008 date 1: 1990

- does that sound reasonable? My justification is that the proceedings
series didn't begin until the 5th, even though the conferences were
held,
but I can't find anything in any of my resources to back that up.

Can anybody advise?

Thank you!
