Evening from Washington Pacific Daylight Time Timothy,

Thank you for another interesting update.

cheers!

Here's a question for the hive brain of TML.

I had a flash of inspiration, in that the squeedles (replacing the anolas in our version of The Traveller Adventure) are the source of the psionic problems the crew, till recently, have encountered.  They've also been long described as 'squid like' (but more worm sized).

So thinking about my squid creatures which saved the PCs on their sailing ship and I had imagined were just very intelligent animals, what if, actually they were psionic as well?  Maybe they're related, very distantly, to the squeedles?  (or vice versa)  This might, of course, explain why the psionics institute is on Junidy in the first place - they're investigating them.
Or have the squid only recently(ish) become psionic in the same way that the squeedles (previously thought to be entirely harmless) seemed to have some 'powers' that are perhaps new to them?  The PCs are the first to encounter these psionic versions (or maybe one or two Dandy fisherfolk have to to give some rumours/clues).

I can't decide whether I want to go down that route or whether it's a 'bit much'?  And then if I do go down that route, which of the options to take?

THEN I had the bright idea what if there was a much larger story along with the 'proper' larger story in The Traveller Adventure (the stuff with Tukera and the meson gun etc)?  What if there's a more general psionic awakening either in the area or in Charted Space.  The PCs would begin to work out this was happening at about the same time we 'finish' the TTA plot proper and this would then form Season 2 (if we were to go on).  And then that raises questions about why and the mechanism and is it all part of a dastardly Zhodani plot that they're deliberately 'awakening' things (either systematically or randomly or even by accident) in order to destabalize The Third Imperium or even just to increase their comfort with psionics.

And then my brain fused.

Not so much because I don't like the ideas but I just have no idea how you choose between all the options.  And how you decide whether to go in such 'meta' directions in the first place, fundamentally changing the nature of what you're doing.  (I'm not *too* stressed about changing the nature of the Traveller universe for the purposes of my gaming group).

How do others go about making such life choices?!
