And while I'm here rattling TML's cage, you'll never guess what I've literally just added to the bibliography...

Well, I wasn't sure this was worth folks' time but since you've asked. . . .

Somewhere I recall seeing CT info on a 500-ton Darrian (or Daryen) merchant freighter.  Seem to remember it in a more obscure publication like something from FASA or Games Workshop but I don't believe it was the 500-ton ~Maru~ class merchant in FASA's ~Adventure Class Ships~, Volume 1.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?  Any idea of the original source?

It may not be what you're after (300 tons not 500), but this leaps out at me as a possible answer:

The Darrian Merchantman

W. Elmer Hinton.  The Imperium Staple 3, May 1986, pp.9-12.

4 pages, small format.  Diag., ill.

· High Guard details, description and deck plans for a 300-ton Gunter-256-class Free Trader.

A TL15 design with TL16 components.  The merchant is shown approaching Lanth Station in the cover illustration of the issue by Phil Morrissey.  Ship Grav Landing in issue no.4 responds to the article's suggestion that only TL16+ ships can have gravitic landing technology.
