Hello Ewan,

As usual I'm a day late and a dollar short since I missed your reply when replying to Ethan's post.

And these are for MT, as that’s my version of choice. I’ve never found striker initiative for some reason (having said that I haven’t looked at it in decades).

Okay, dumb question, but which design system is this? I've just lost track of the possibilities.

Can these be translated into Classic Traveller? I thought somebody did a low-tech adaptation that included rockets.

The Modular Cutter doesn’t work very well from a planetary interface point of view. It can only go from land to orbit once on its rockets, so can’t work out in the frontiers where all they might have is a landing strip. The Cutter is a much better bet. Also high G takes some doing at this TL.

I might look at just space faring craft (i.e. no landing in atmosphere) which should reduce the cost and increase the utility somewhat, however that kind of defeats half the object of small craft …

Anyway …

The McInnes class launch is a design similar to those that can be found anywhere a TL8 society wishes to achieve space flight and explore the systems they are in. The McInnes tail lunches and then using its wings to land on a runway.

The McInnes Class has the ability to take cargos of 50 tons into orbit, which it achieves in a little under 6.25 minutes from 1G planet. The extended life support allows for missions over 15 days in deep space with a constant 1G provided by the Fusion Rocket however there is no separate sleeping accommodation provided for the crew, although they can sleep in the passenger compartment.

Basic Environment, Life-support and Extended Life-support don’t cover the module

The Wann class modular cutter is a TL8 design similar to those that can be found anywhere in a spacefaring society where modular cutters are the norm. The Wann class is designed around the standard 30 ton modules produced across chartered space and can take a 405 tons to orbit in in a little over 10 minutes. The Wann class has the ability to tail launch and land on any inhabitable world, using it’s wings to land on a runway.

The Wann Class is not as cheap or as effective as a General Products modular cutter, but for those systems that can’t or don’t wish to access out system higher technology the Wann Class will do the job.

Flying through atmosphere without a module attached is impossible, and launching without one will cause the spine to break. While moving the Wann in space without a module is possible, it’s not recommended
