Maybe, does the map still survive?

I haven't run across anything either.

It was only in 2018 that I ran across the map used as a JTAS mailing wrapper in 1980, which shows a multi-sector rift rim-trailing of the Federation, and forming the border in the Kidunal, Folgore and Avereguar sectors. Maybe this is what's being mis-remembered instead?

Hah!  Good game, good game.

I was going to bed an hour ago but now I've looked through shelves and files and various eras of Traveller until I'm dizzy and have seen more Maps of Charted Space than I recalled existing.  However, I've found nothing along the lines of what you described.  I can't find one with anything 'east') Trailing of the Two Thousand Worlds - although the T5 one has a couple of larger grey stars that I suppose could be something half remembered if that helps.

If it helps, I used to refer to the map as a map of 'Known Space' in my bibliographies so I checked those as well as 'Charted'.  (And 'Charted' is now on the corrigenda for TTB).

I'm now of course most interested to hear anyone else has better luck.

Could it have been in one of the Boxed Games?  I've not been in the attic to check those.

I have memory that there was a version of the Charted Space map that showed a small state to the trailing of the Two Thousand Worlds,  I've checked the earliest version I have (1981), but it does not seem to be on that one, does anyone know when this first appeared and in which version of Traveller?
