Well, I know whatever I was flying was using ASMs and they may well have been Harpoons. It was, I think, one of the basic Harpoon (game) scenarios.

I felt kind of bad for the Russian players because although they got some experience helming/navigating their ships, they never saw the enemy and had little chance against the missiles coming in hot.

They can be fitted with torpedoes of course. They're mainly intended to
ASW use, but they also work fine on surface ships. Not as much stand-off
distance as a Harpoon would give, but with modern torps it's still
enough to be over the horizon if the launching craft gets good and low.
