Joshua Bell of TravellerMap clarified some things:

1. The Paranoia Press booklets were CT era 1981.
2. In 1994, Chuck Kallenbach rewrote the sectors to support MT/TNE/T4. That's the data Berka's map depicts at Chuck's request although it isn't clear that the data was meant to be back propagated over the booklet data for the CT era. The incompatibility may suggest it was, but the note in Galactic and in Berka's map at Zho Base indicates Chuck wanted Zho Base to use that revised and different version.
3. Traveller Map is using the CT data for the CT era representation from 1981.

I understand at least 1 subsequent dot map (DGP) was not consistent with the Paranoia Press products.

It may be MgT deals with this area and who knows how that could look with different data sets, dot maps, etc. When that happens, if MgT represents CT authoritatively, then the Paranoia Press stuff will be wiped.

I like these Sectors more than most I've seen done in CT so I'll feel sad to see them go. I liked Fasa's Reaver's Deep too.

Anyway, for Tom Rux, I wanted to clarify the differences in the two map sites at present after this information was clarified for me.

Well, that's interesting from a Traveller Map perspective then. This is what the info Tom pointed me at said at the bottom of the page:

"The Vanguard Reaches data are reproduced here with permission
of the author, Chuck Kallenbach II . Chuck
expressed the wish that we use the data provided on the Paranoia
Press homepage rather than what was in the actual sector book
(copyright 1981). These new data, Chuck feels, cover both MT
and TNE and should be valid for T4 as well.

The text for the Library Data was provided by Chuck at his
web site and structured and adapted, without modification to
the wording, for use in GALACTIC.

The stories entitled Von Ryan's War and the Loser's Perspective
were provided by Chuck at the same site and incorporated into
the information for the Duchy of Trelyn. Von Ryan's War is
reproduced by permission of the author, Chuck Kallenbach II.
The Loser's Perspective is credited to Dan Hillen from original
ideas by Don Rapp. Proper credits can be found at the Paranoia
Press homepage.
"

This must reflect the supposed 1981 updates, though the Zhodani Base's version of The Beyond has no credit for the source of that though the data does not in any way match the two sectors as published in their respective Paranoia Press publications.

When GDW published their somewhat skeletonized 'Atlas of the Imperium' way back in the, I think, early '80's, it was specifically mentioned in the book that the licenses for third-party-generated chunks of the Imperium had expired & those areas had therefore been re-generated.

That data set does not match the Paranoia Press Vanguard Reaches (and thus I imagine The Beyond sector would also be different). I also doubt it matches later DGP stuff either. I do not know where they got their data from.

Looking in the book for Vanguard Reaches, the base at Totenkopf is supposed to be a non-IISS/non-Imperial Scout Base and the base at Langemarck is in fact a non-Imperial Naval Base. I think from https://wiki.travellerrpg.com/Base_Code they should have types J for Langemarke and V for Totenkopf.
Here is a link to Supplement PO3 Space Atlas https://zhodani.space/data/CLASSIC/

Checking all of the subsector maps I did not either Totenkopf or Langemarck listed in the subsector write-up.

Hi,

I'm working on some entries for the Traveller Wiki for the Vanguard Reaches (published for CT by Paranoia Press).

I've been looking at the page for Langemarck itself, one of the few world pages in the Langemarck Coalition that was already existent and in the list of sources there is mention of an online update to the Vanguard Reaches (and possibly other Paranoia Press material), date identified as 1991, and authored by Chuck Kallenbach who wrote these supplements I believe.

Where online these existed, unclear. Anyone with a long memory and a deep repository of past data have a copy of these updates?

I see on the Traveller Wiki that the legend they use marks the base at Langemark as a Naval Base (non-Imperial) but the code recorded on the page is a K which https://wiki.travellerrpg.com/Base_Code appears not to align with (its not a K'Kree base... I think it should be F or a J) and the base on the map appears to be noted in the TravellerMap legend as 'independent base' which seems like it would have base code F (perhaps a Langemarck Army base?).

As Paranoia Press is out of operation, I doubt any errata will cover these discrepancies, but if there was some updates to UWPs etc. in 1991, I never saw this update. If anyone has whatever Chuck put out in 1991 as an update, I'd love to see it. If it's on the CD that has the PP stuff, just point me there as I have the disk somewhere.
