I heard that phrase a lot when watching old westerns, both TV series & movies.

Usually uttered by some old 'codger' referring to various aches & pains.

Which brings me to another instance.

A friend of mine from high school had a younger brother.
Only three years younger but he had never, ever heard the phrase 'old codger'.
"What the heck is a 'codger'!"
