And the Jump Shuttle to go with the SDB posted earlier. I would have normally done a Copley as the Imperial design and then the Copley A as the County upgrade, but as it take some time to do and make sense, and I wasn’t expecting to have any Imperial designed Copley’s in service I didn’t bother.

The Copley class System Defence Jump Shuttle was the Imperial standard jump shuttle designed to move the Cane class SDB and as such was the default choice of the County Navy to be the standard jump shuttle for Home county. Following the battle of Homestead and the subsequent closing of the county borders the County Navy decided to consolidate its system defence fleet and standardised on just one model in order to allow efficiencies in maintenance and repair.

The Copley was designed to move the Cane class SDB to where they need to be deployed, and that’s all the system defence forces of the Empire needed them to do, however the County Navy needed all the warships it could muster so it upgraded the Cane’s computers, power plant, sensors and weaponry, and while in no way comparable with designed warships at least it has some firepower.

The Copley is relatively luxurious compared to other county ships. Each crew members gets their own full size stateroom, and there is a spare stateroom for a passenger or to be customised as needed by the crew and the Zero G Gym is an essential part of the ship used to keep the crew’s health from degrading in the microgravity environment.

When the Copley is on it’s on it achieves the stats listed above, and has fuel for 3x jump 1s, however it’s expected function is to move Cane’s where they need to be. When the Jump Shuttle is docked with a Cane the combined 900 tons of vessel can achieve 0.5 G and Jump 1, and while the ships are not expected to fight while docked, it is possible to do so, and all crews drill to do so. While the ships are docked they are connected allowing the crews to mingle while in jump which can be a relief for a Cane crew that has been on a long deployment.

Ewan
