Hello Joshua Bell,

Thank-you for the update and I hope things get back on track very soon.

Subject: Re: [TML] Amber Zones in Core sector

The increase in amber zones (strictly following the T5 rules) across all of the reviewed sectors of Charted Space was included in one of the last T5SS data updates I received from Don McKinney before his untimely death. The intent of sharing the data via travellermap.com is to get feedback on the data. Unfortunately his passing means that feedback like "whoah, there seem to be too many" or "this changes everything!" hasn't been processed yet.

I'll pass on the message/concern/etc as the review process reboots.

Oooh, that's a nice excuse. Good thought.

(I don't suppose anyone here still plays Kennedy Approach - originally for the the Commodore 64 - but the no fly areas around DC are a *real* pain for air traffic controllers.  I can see so many Amber Zones being an equal pain for travellers, traders but perhaps not for troublemakers!). (Oh, and if it means anything to anyone, I've just passed GS-30 and $2,000,000 worth of salary in some 125 shifts. If only it were real [1])

Fortunately for my purposes the Amber Zones aren't really a problem. Except maybe to comment on in passing.  I don't need to come up with excuses for them or anything. I'll leave that for players and referees.

What is more of a pain is the shifting of some of the subsector capitals which rather spoils my nicely worked out counties.  I've only rechecked three subsectors thus far and two capitals have moved.  If that's about it I could justify them as old county boundaries not having caught up with the current capital assignments, but if there are many more I may have to do some rejigging which will be a real pain.

Ah well.  "Another job creation scheme" as my wife would dismissively say.  I should have stuck with my bibliography.

Cheers

tc

[1] Though if it were real, I would dread to think how many people I've killed flying planes into the mountains approaching Hong Kong.  My, is that a difficult approach!
