Also, factor into your "indefinitely" that even at TL15, systems need maintenance (including swapping in replacements for worn-out components), and break down with increasing frequency without that maintenance. How long will every essential element of life support keep working when the nearest repair bay or parts shop is a parsec away?

A misjumped ship's crew might well have the ability to support life
indefinitely in deep space.  That's not the same thing as being able
to make it back to civilization, let alone in any reasonable
timeframe.

Also, a great many ships in canon are not designed at TL15.
