Hello Bruce Johnson,
 
I don't remember nor were my notes detailed enough give me a hint as to why we had to roll. The notes say we failed with some detail, of course I probably was going to review the notes to figure out why and never did.
 
Of course most of the time we started on a planet and did not need refueling.

That’s an insanely high risk, but is an excellent illustration of the difference between role-playing and roll-playing :-/

I’ve never played in any game where we actually rolled out skim refuelling unless it was being done under fire or with a damaged ship or with some other handicap “Your path takes you into the eye wall of the great red spot”...
