The Annic Nova is in JTAS #1 copyright 1979 pp. 16-32.

Per JTAS 1 p. 30: "The canopy  collects radiated solar energy and stores in in the accumulators on the drive deck. The required charge time is 1 to 6 weeks (1D), depending on the distance and spectral type of the star as radiation source."

My impression is that the L-Hyd is converted into energy that the jump drive holds on to until the computer gives the command to discharge and somehow open jump drive. In 1977 my thought was the conversion took place in the jump drive. CT LBB 5 1979 p. 23 chucked the idea with the rule that the power plant number must at least equal the higher of the jump drive number or the maneuver drive number. CT LBB 5 1980 and CT LBB 2 1977/1981 has the same requirement of the power plant rating being at least equal the higher rating of the jump drive or maneuver drive. Now my idea is that the power plant converts the L-Hyd to energy feeding the output to the jump drive which under computer stores the energy until the calculated level is needed and then somehow opens a hole into jump space. The somehow until the JTAS article on jump space by Marc Miller introduced a gird that the energy flowed out to, of course there is still the somehow opening a hole into jump hanging out in my mind.

The Annic Nova converts stellar radiation into energy that is stored in an accumulator. When the accumulator has enough energy to operate one or the other drive the computer channels the energy into the jump drive until there is enough to open the hole into jump space. Once again there is a somehow to figure out.

Depending on the interpretation of the rules the jump drive, which might be a specialized power plant in
CT LBB 2, would be to power the ship's internal systems long enough to be picked up by the tender. My interpretation is that the starships require a jump drive to cross interstellar space and a power plant to run internal systems. I'm on the fence about the maneuver drive and IIRC my recreation of a CT LBB 2 1977 X-boat could handle a 1G MD leaving 1 stateroom.

CT Supplement 9 1981 7th printing p. 26. The TL-15 50-ton fighter has a Power Plant rating of 22 and carries 11 tons of power plant fuel which is 4 weeks of operation. The 11 tons of fuel coupled with the bunking is what allows the fighter to loiter on station. Adding an 11-ton L-Hyd drop tank or using the fuel scoops can extend the loiter time, however the biggest limiting factor is how much food does fighter carry.
