Hi there,

The answer is definitely no, it's not. But I'm going to be doing some

Freelance Traveller on mobile devices. So, if you have a mobile
device, please try visiting a few Freelance Traveller pages, including

One of the main reasons I have, and carry, a 10" tablet is to handle web pages *well*, so I can't say I'm overly fussed at the prospect of a mobile friendly site.

I *hate* trying to use my Library's mobile friendly version as I don't seem to be able to find everything, can't work out how to get to things I know are there, and feel even basic things take three times as long or three times as many clicks/taps.  (You can try it at www.port.ac.uk/library if you wish.  I'm sure the guy's done a good job and it's just me...)

However, I can understand the drive to do it for the non-dinosaurs such as myself.  If I get a moment this week I'll try and take a look but I'm feeling a bit stressed by various things at present.  (or maybe just feeling a bit low with CFS which then makes everything else seem demanding).

For informational purposes only - I'm not planning on changing PDFs at
present

But that's good to hear.  The feature of FT that I *really* like is that you still produce a proper magazine looking PDF.  Maybe it's the librarian in me, maybe it's the dinosaur above.  I don't know.  (Though I'll admit that the web URL is easier to point people to an individual article after the month is up.)  Web pages would also not print neatly into a booklet I can put on my shelf, either. [1]

On a completely librariany note, I should add that although I'd love to include the wonderful wealth of Traveller material out there on the web in my bibliography, I had to draw a line somewhere and that was it.  So by having a proper magazine output, FT gets included.  Web pages wouldn't.  (OK, there is an exception in www.travellermap.com - but how could you not include that?!)

- does your device handle PDFs well,

Yes.  The other reason I carry my tablet.  All my US Letter/A4 sized Traveller books/magazines in a readable, handy form.  I can even take them all on holiday with me!

and which format -
USLetter or A4 - is "better" for your device (some tablets are closer
to ISO A-series aspect ratio; some are closer to US Letter, some [most
phones] don't fit either well)

Hmmm, good question.  I've not specifically tried the US letter versions as I just assumed the A4 would be better for me and I've not had problems with them.  I'll try one out for you (see above for timing!).

good luck with the project even if I'm not the #1 cheerleader for it!

[1] Much easier on the eyes when I'm tired and also, interestingly, I would say I have better recall of things I've seen in a physical document than I do on a screen.  The snag is space.  My complete run of FT is now going into its third banker's box.
