Arggh I forgot one of those basic rules, probably the most important of them all. It's so deeply ingrained in me I don't even think about it now.

Keep your work and private life separate. If I let my work into my private life I will never get it out. I go further than most possibly, but I have two sets of clothes, make up, lingerie, pretty much everything, work and private. And they don't mix. If I use it for work, I only use it for work. Though it's exceptionally unlikely to be an issue, I'd never take as a client a person I know in my social life. Likewise if I should run into a client outside of work, I would treat them as a complete stranger (this is also part of discretion, they appreciate it). I do care about my clients, hard not to most are nice guys, I never let myself or them forget I'm a sex worker and they're my client. You blur those lines, you're lost.

Add to this Andrea's rule:

So agreed - don't run a scam. Why not instead run an "Unforgiven"
(<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unforgiven>) or "Heart of Gold"
(<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_of_Gold_(Firefly)>) scenario: the sex
workers need help (1) defending themselves from someone or (2) taking
revenge on someone.

Alternatively, there's the old chestnut where (3) one of their own has gone
missing, and the local police are not doing anything to follow it up
("they're only prostitutes, after all"). Which, depending on the outcome,
could also lead to scenario #2, above...  ;-)
