Travellers' Aid Society. A private interstellar organization which maintains hostels and facilities at various starports throughout our Traveller universe. [p.11]
Travellers' Aid: ,The Travellers' Aid Society is a private organization which maintains hostels and facilities at all class A and B starports in human space. Such facilities are available (at reasonable cost) to members and their guests.
Travellers' Aid Society membership may be acquired upon mustering out while using the benefits table. Once this benefit is achieved, further receipt of the benefit 29 has no effect; membership may be achieved only once per character. Receipt of membership in the Travellers' Aid Society upon mustering out may be construed as a reward for heroism or extraordinary service to the Society, rather than an official benefit of the service.
Membership in the Society may also be purchased. Such purchase involves avoidance of a "blackball" (throw 4+ to avoid), and (if accepted) payment of an initiation fee of Cr1,000,000. Only one application per person is allowed. Membership is for the life of a character, and is not transferrable. The Travellers' Aid Society invests its membership fees and other income; it uses its capital and return to provide benefits to i t s members. Every two months, it pays dividends in the form of one high passage to each member. This passage may be used, retained, or sold. [p.29]
The Travellers' Aid Society: Individuals who have decided that they wish to pursue a life of travel and adventure may elect to join the Travellers' Aid Society, in order to take advantage of its facilities and passage dividends. Members of the Travellers' Aid Society receive, as a dividend of membership, one high passage every two months. The high passage may be used, retained for later use, or sold for 90% of i t s cash value.
Membership in the Travellers' Aid Society may be acquired as a mustering out benefit using the benefits table in the navy and marine careers. Membership may also be purchased at a cost of Cr1,000,000. Upon application for membership, the individual is evaluated by a membership committee (throw 4+ to avoid a blackball). Only one application per person is allowed. Membership is for the life of the character, and is not transferable. [p.50]
Private mail is usually intended for delivery to a specific point (such as the Travellers' Aid Society building, or a tavern keeper), and is generally accompanied by a Cr20 to Cr120 honorarium. Throwr9+ for a private message to be awaiting transmittal, and determine randomly which crew member is approached to carry it. [p.53]
Basic Cuisine on a Daily Basis: Food is available in a variety of forms and qualities. Prices reflect costs per person. Restaurant meals of ordinary quality cost CrlO per day. Excellent quality meals range in price from Cr20 to Cr50 per person. Travellers' Aid Society facilities provide excellent quality meals to members and guests for Cr20. [p.109]
Amber Zones: Amber zone is a travel zone code promulgated by the Travellers' Aid Society to warn off individuals
from dangerous worlds. [p.124]
Interdiction: <snip couple of paragraphs> Interdicted worlds are awarded travel zone red ratings by the Travellers' Aid Society. [p.154]

Membership may be purchased at the cost of 1,000,000 Credits although it is possible for an application to be ‘black-balled’ by an existing member. The Traveller’s Aid Society is an exclusive organisation, made up of those who are truly citizens of the galaxy, not just a single world.

Red Zone
The Travellers’ Aid Society travel zone classifi cation for a nation, world, or system which is dangerous to travellers. <snip additional info on Red Zones> [p.60]
Amber Zone
Part of a system used by the Imperial Interstellar Scout Service and the Traveller’s Aid Society classification for a nation, world, or system which presents a need for caution in dealings and activity. The amber code may indicate chaos, upheaval, or xenophobia in local business, politics, society, or culture, or may be applied for other reasons. Travellers should exercise caution. [p.64]
TAS: This is a Traveller’s Aid Society Hostel, where characters with TAS membership and their guests can stay. TAS Hostels offer medical facilities for members, as well as supplies and luxuries not normally available on most worlds. TAS Hostels are a good source of rumours and passengers. [p.180]

Traveller’s Aid Society Freelance Referral
The PCs are members of the Traveller’s Aid Society, and are on the list of “preferred” referrals for members of the TAS who have problems. Fees are negotiable. [p.11]

Another detail that might be overlooked is all the 'TAS' forms produced for Traveller. Whether you "merely' regard them as metagaming help or whether you regard them as something 'in game' might be worth a note.
