the village next to my home village (in the German countryside) is called Adlitz. It's pronounced Molats. 
Nobody knows why. It just is one of the more extreme variations on that

And "Featherstone-Haugh" is "Fanshaw" or "Farnshaw", and "Tagliaferia" is
"Tolliver", and "Marjoribanks" is "Marshbanks" or "Marchbanks". I haven't
found many names like that, or they'd be worth Yet Another Jotting On
