When I was a kid, the local barber college had a barber shop where
the sufficiently advanced students could cut hair on "real people".

My mom took us there for haircuts. Occasionally, this got
interesting. I recall the time a student barber kept telling me to
hold still. What was actually happening was that my head was moving
because he was pudshing *way* too hard with the clippers.

Mom got on my case about it too, so I just tried my best to keep my
head motionless. And soon enough there was this "grunch" noise as he
jammed the clippers (and possibly put a small cut on my head, I don't
recall), at which point he got quite a lecture from rthe instructor
who was supervising things.

The point is that there's a *reason* the haircuts are cheaper at
barber colleges. :-)

What could possibly go wrong? :-)
