Still a far cry from "impossible" &, considering the underlying assumptions of the OTU, it'll be infinitely harder to find things lost in space.
Not to even mention hyperspace!
(re: mention in SJG's TNS of a TerranConfed battlecruiser recovered in the 12 century 3I which misjumped during the  Interstellar Wars. With survivors on board, no less!)
