And that's precisely what that long-ago SPI columnist I mentioned earlier was really talking about.

It wasn't really the cost, per se. I was the sheer amount of energy that was required for transportation.

He didn't state explicitly, but I got the distinct expression that he had the feeling that an advanced society would have found a more efficient way of using all that energy to achieve a flourishing economy.

Now, of course I wasn't really interested in that cuz' I liked the CT OTU just the way it was & I didn't see why the "the designers will have to address the....." can-of-worms had to be opened.
