Though you'd still have to be careful about what you used as the
"cold" side of the setup. It needs to be significantly cooler than
the hot end or you won't get a lot of power.

Also, it needs to be something that the heat will spread out from
quickly, or it'll get warm and reduce the efficiency of the
generator.

The problem that requires care is to avoid causing an anomalous "hot
spot" that can be detected from orbit. That'd be a giveaway too.
