Dear Subscriber,

In my last message I said that autumn was just beginning.  Autumn?  What autumn?  Here in Maryland, trees are turning and then casting off their leaves as fast as they possibly can.  While there's a bit of color to be seen, the landscape is becoming a wintry vista of gray branches.  It's also a vista of gray deer.  Gray deer are not a good thing.  Deer take on a winter coat of gray (rather than reddish brown) when it is going to be COLD.  The squirrels are frantically seeking food to store away for the winter.  I suspect it won't be long before we have to get out the snow shovels...

And, of course, that means it's the "holiday season."  Ah, remember the day when this meant that, shortly after Thanksgiving, you'd see the FIRST holiday decorations in the store?  Soon, we'll be seeing them right after Valentine's Day, if not before...  However, that brings me to my first big announcement: We have a new selection of absolutely gorgeous Victorian holiday cards!  These are available on Zazzle.com, and while I shouldn't boast, I have to admit I'm terribly pleased with how they came out.  We have cats, dogs, mice, bears, Santas, angels, and more! There are 25 in all, most based on Victorian cards from the 1880's and 1890's, but a with few that are based on vintage (1910-1920) postcards.  To view them all, please visit http://www.victorianvoices.net/books/xmascards.shtml or go directly to my Zazzle store at https://www.zazzle.com/victorianvoices.

And now here's what we have for you in November:
