This is where the ‘dicey’ bit comes in. As the Emperor’s representative the Sector Duke could hold the court martial himself, or clap the hapless captain in leg irons and hold him until the Fleet commander can arrive to convene the trial. Rule of Man says that the Sector Duke is in no way required to show the ‘rebellious’ Captain any niceties; and could well ‘lose’ him in whatever labyrinthine prison system he has at his disposal.

There’s an adventure seed. You, as a disreputable band of naval brawlers, criminals. rabble-rousers and other trouble makers, call it an even dozen of you :-) are tasked by Admiral Crochety to find the young Captain in Duke Nasty’s prison system (or some LSP contracted prison/factory/slave mine :-) and extract him while he’s still alive and sane…all unofficially, of course, with the promise that your brig sentences will be commuted…for the ones that live at least :-P
