  They're defense contractors. They wouldn’t come
 out publicly with this without being really really sure they
 could get a crapton of money for trying. 

 There’s no reason to believe that LockMart, even the
 Skunkworks, has the secret sauce that thousands and
 thousands of people have spent billions of dollars trying to
 perfect without success. 

  I’ll be perfectly, ecstatically happy to eat a whole
 platter-full of crow on this, but I rather doubt they’ve
 cracked it.

Masters of the snow job!
They'll promise anything to get a sale/contract.

Left-wing, right-wing, politically-correct, politically-incorrect, they're all essentially the same as used-car salesman.
(For a while, I personally knew a guy who became a car salesman. The 'special' sales training they were given was a real eye-opener)
