But really is this place to argue about fringe local politics? (Left
and Right politics are all fringe politics now. As neither side has a
opinion that they can back up with reason)

Though if you want to get a Anti-Nuke green going asked them about the
waste by product of universal solar cells on buildings. (Hint the
toxics pass the current American static radioactive waste stockpiles
numbers fairly quickly). This was a common topic of discussion with
one of my professors while we were working on a Urban Transit planning
study.
