Whereas I think the setting that came out of that decision (the
RCES/Regency 1201 period) was great, and I was thoughly underwhelmed by
the 1248 extension. To me it read as "Ten millienia of empires and their
catastrophic wars and collapses weren't enough, so let's have More Empire!"
