I'm beginning to think that the exact meaning of the phrase 'wired for' is highly dependent upon context.

For me, personally, the term 'the room is wired for sound' means that the room has mics &/or speakers installed.
The term 'wired for the network' means only that there are receptacles avail to attach to.
As far as 'the human brain is wired for' goes, at least for me, it depends on what the topic is.
It could go either way.

Funny thing, it's something I've never really thought about till now but this appears to be one of those things can be easily understood while conversing face-to-face but just as easily misunderstood when not...

 autocracy, I'm okay with the concept that a million
 people agreeing that an author writing for general
 consumption is using the ASSUMED meaning of his words,
 unless he SPECIFICALLY states otherwise.
