The space combat rules for Spacemaster, back in the day, allowed you to
target 'torpedoes', which were the missiles that had good range. You
couldn't target 'missiles', because they were really short ranged and
relied on hitting you with tons of small missiles (your EW systems did
reduce the number of hits from them though - as I recall they were
usually less useful than the same tonnage of lasers).
