I think Hitler would've invaded no matter what as he viewed the bolsheviks as mortal enemies.
In any case I've read, in a # of texts, that Stalin planned to attack Germany in 1942 anyway.
So it seems that Hitler was correct, the bolsheviks *were* mortal enemies...
