Hello Rupert,

CT LBB 5 HG 1979 p. 23 "On any given ship, the power plant must at least equal the higher of the jump drive number or the maneuver drive number."

CT LBB 5 HG 2e 1980 p. 22 "On any given ship, the power plant must at least equal the jump drive number or the maneuver drive number, whichever is higher."

Basic Traveller LBB 2 Starships 1981 p. 12 "A starship must have a jump drive and a power plant; a maneuver drive may also be installed, but it is not required. In all cases, the power plant letter must equal or exceed either the maneuver drive letter or the jump drive letter, whichever is higher."

Basic Traveller 1981, in my opinion, was rewritten to be more compatible with CT LBB 5 HG 2e since CT Basic Traveller 1977 only required the power plant letter must al least equal the maneuver drive letter and not having a maneuver drive.
