	GT: Interstellar Wars mentions it in passing. It was one of the innovations of
the Rule of Man. Trying to take advantage of the extended range of the J-3 Drive
to get past a few of the smaller rifts in the Imperial spaces. I don't recall
any specific date or person in the innovation.

	I wouldn't surprise me it was discovered in a way to find a way across the
Windhorn rift to suppress the repeated Vargr invaders to the coreward border,
not understanding there was no concerted efforts by the Vargr to invade.
