I think it's fair to say that too much reality pretty much wrecks every morph of Traveller.
Way back then, I was in the school of 'wargamers' that felt that 'the more complicated it was, the better it was'.
In Traveller it usually seemed that more complication just spawned more, & more problems.
(Some one on this List once described MegaTrav as "MegaErrata")
As the  years have gone by I've moved to the KISS principle as that seems to yield the most fun.
