My understanding, which another member mentioned,is that when a ship encounters a large enough object the ship automatically drops out of jump space around the 100D limit of the object.

GURPS Traveller Interstellar Wars p. 22 from my FFE GURPS Traveller CD-2 on p. 22 indicates that the United States found a rogue planet that was 1 parsec from earth and Bernard's Star.

In one of Mongoose Traveller's books, can not recall which one yet, said the the United States setup a refueling way point at the one parsec point between earth and Bernard's Star.
